Celia is CTA’s Vice Principal and teaches on both the BA and MA programmes. She was awarded her Lic.Ac. in 1982, her Advanced Lic.Ac. in 1997 and her Master of Acupuncture in 2000. She holds a Teaching Diploma from the University of Manchester and is a Fellow of the Association of Music and Imagery.
Celia's research interests are shamanism, the power of prayer and psycho-emotional disorders and in particular the wider anthropological and multi-disciplinary aspects of health and illness. Her wider experience as a health professional has included work in supporting women as they enter prison, founding the Natural Therapy Centre in Leamington Spa, co-founding the first Cancer support group in Leamington Spa, as well as helping in the early development of Caduceus magazine.
Celia is a popular teacher within the programmes at CTA, known for both her breadth of knowledge of acupuncture traditions and her care for students.
Celia served for many years on the Accreditation Committee of the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board, and continues to serve as an External Examiner for the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading.
Celia has been a practising acupuncturist since 1982 and practices from the CTA Clinic at the college itself.
